Leadership style is defined in terms of how the leader appears in the eyes of the beholder. It's not how people see themselves that matters, but how they come across to others they're attempting to influence. You may see yourself as a very humanistic and caring person, but if your followers see you as hard-nosed and bossy, their perceptions, not yours, will affect their behavior.
